Fix: Carrier Hub Processing Requests – Constant Notification Won’t Go Away

Although the Carrier Hub app may stop working or crash sometimes, the chances are high that the processing requests notification can’t be closed from the notification shade on Samsung Galaxy devices. T-Mobile One UI 4 Beta 2 Notification panel shows “MCM client requests processing” all the time, according to reports on the GalaxyS21 subreddit. So, here we’ve provided some workarounds that may help you out.

Do keep in mind that not everyone will benefit from the following methods. Still, it would be best if you did them all individually.

1. Update the Carrier Hub app

If restarting your handset doesn’t come in handy, then update the Carrier Hub app. It would be best if you headed to the Google Play Store app > Search for Carrier Hub and check whether the latest update is available. An outdated Carrier Hub app version can cause issues with stability or performance. If the update is available, install it.

  • Open the Google Play Store app > Tap on the three-dots icon at the top-right corner. [profile icon]
  • Go to My apps & games > Here, you’ll find out Carrier Hub if an update is available.
  • Tap on Update next to Carrier Hub > It’ll automatically install the update.

2. Clear the Cache and Storage of the Carrier Hub

The second thing you can do is to clear out the Carrier Hub app cache and the storage data from the settings menu to refresh the app cache & storage if anything conflicts with it. Sometimes a corrupted app cache or data can cause such crashing issues. To do so:

  • Go to the device Settings menu > Tap on Apps & Notifications.
  • Tap on the See all apps option to view your device’s installed apps.
  • Next, locate and select Carrier Hub from the list > Tap on Storage & Cache.
  • Tap on Clear cache to delete the cached data.
  • Now, tap on Clear storage and select OK to delete the app storage data from the phone.
  • Go back once to the App Info page again and select Force stop of the Carrier Hub app.

Note: Now make sure to turn on the Airplane Mode on the handset and then turn it off after a couple of seconds. The problem should have gone now. However, rebooting the device will bring back the MCM Client again.

3. Disable Notification for Carrier Hub

Make sure to turn off the Carrier Hub notification on your device to hide it until the problem gets solved temporarily. To do so:

Head over to the Settings menu on your device > Go to Notifications > Next, turn off and then turn on again notifications for Carrier Hub. The processing requests notification will go away.

Otherwise, please turn off the notification by pressing & holding it > Select Turn Off Notifications or Mute Notifications.

4. Uninstall Carrier Hub using ADB Commands

If none of the methods worked for you, then try performing the following steps to uninstall Carrier Hub using ADB commands on the device with a PC.

  • Open the device Settings menu > Tap on System.
  • Tap on About phone > Tap on the Build number 7 times to enable Developer Options. [steps to go to the Build number on some devices may vary depending on the brand or model]
  • Once enabled, go back to the main Settings menu > Tap on Developer Options to open it.
  • Next, turn on the USB debugging option > Download ADB and fastboot tools on your PC.
  • Extract the compressed zip file into a folder on the PC and open it.
  • Connect your handset to the PC using a USB cable and wait for it to get detected by the system.
  • Now, make sure to press & hold the Shift key on the keyboard and right-click in a blank area inside the folder.
  • Select Open Powershell window here from the context menu > If prompted by UAC, click on Yes to allow the admin privilege.
  • Type the following command and hit Enter to check for the connected device in ADB:

adb devices

  • The device is successfully connected in ADB mode if you get a random device ID on the command prompt window.
  • Now, make sure to copy/paste the following command line and hit Enter to delete the Carrier Hub app package from your device:

adb shell pm uninstall –user 0 com.sprint.ms.smf.services

  • Wait for a few seconds and disconnect your device > Disconnect the device from the USB cable.
  • Finally, restart the handset to check for the issue. The Carrier Hub app should be uninstalled from your device.
