The chances are also high that the ESPN+ services are having some issues while you’re trying to access it. As the service is specific to the USA, some users may gonna encounter streaming issues if they use VPN services from other regions whatsoever. So, we’ve shared all the possible workarounds that should come in handy in most scenarios. Now, without wasting any more time, let’s jump into it.

1. Reboot the device

It’s recommended to restart your device once before going to any conclusion. Sometimes issues with the temporary system glitch can cause multiple conflicts with the application to run properly or streaming content online. If you’re using a mobile device then make sure to close the app and restart it as usually you do.

While if you’re using a TV then make sure to press the power button on the remote control to power it off and unplug the power cable from the power socket. Then wait for a minute or so and plug back the power cable in to turn it on.

2. Update the ESPN Plus app

We’ll suggest you manually check for the ESPN Plus app update to the latest version and install (if available). It’s actually required for you to keep the app version always up-to-date before following any other methods. Whatever device platform you’re using, just head over to the online store application and search for ESPN+. If there is an update available then you can simply install it and you’re done.

3. Check your internet connection

Make sure to check your internet connection properly because a poor or unstable internet network can cause multiple issues with content streaming. So, it’s better to use a wired (ethernet) or wireless (Wi-Fi) connection to cross-check the issue. You can also try performing a power cycle on your Wi-Fi router. Don’t use mobile data or mobile hotspot for content streaming because it may not provide you enough internet speed for playback in most scenarios.

4. Don’t use VPN

You shouldn’t try using any kind of VPN (Virtual Private Network) with your Wi-Fi router or the device to stream geo-restricted content or service from any other region. Maybe you’ll be able to stream content using a VPN service but that’ll eventually increase the slow loading or buffering issue a lot. Sometimes VPN services can easily reduce internet speed which is also known as ping/latency. So, the higher ping/latency will be there, the slower video will load.

5. Close other programs

Try closing all other unnecessary apps or programs on your device while you’re trying to playback online content on the ESPN+ app. It’ll basically increase the load on your internet speed which can cause buffering and lagging issues.

6. Sign Out and Sign Back In

Sometimes corrupted cache data issues or any kind of temporary glitch with the account/service may cause such issues. Therefore, we’ll suggest you simply head over to the ESPN+ profile section and sign out of your account straight away. Once done, close the app then open it again and sign back into your existing ESPN+ account once again.

7. Reinstall the ESPN Plus app

If none of the methods worked for you then you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the ESPN+ app on your respective device by deleting the application first. Then make sure to restart the device once to clear any kind of saved corrupted cache data from the system/storage. Now, head over to the respective online store where you can install/update apps. Then search for ESPN Plus and hit Install to get it installed. Once done, log into your account to access it.
